How much RAM does a Vault Hunters server need?

For most groups we recommend 8 GB of RAM to run Vault Hunters on Forge 1.18.2. That headroom keeps the world at a smooth 20 TPS while the pack loads its chunks, entities, and world generation. You can start as low as 6 GB for a small group on an already-explored map, but a rpg / dungeon crawler pack like this is memory-hungry, and running short of heap is the most common cause of lag and crashes.

RAM needs climb with your player count, render and simulation distance, the size of freshly generated terrain, and any extra mods or datapacks you add on top of the base pack. If you regularly host a full group, explore new chunks, or raise the view distance, size up a tier rather than sitting at the 6 GB floor.
